The short version
- Squeezio compresses your videos on your device. There is no account.
- The app is free to use, with an optional Pro upgrade.
- Pro purchases and any cancellation are handled by Google Play.
- You keep ownership of your videos; we never receive or upload their contents.
- Your statutory consumer rights are not limited by these terms, including cancellation, withdrawal, refund, and defect rights, and conformity and update rights for paid digital products.
Who can use Squeezio
You may use Squeezio if you can form a binding agreement in your country and your use complies with these terms and with Google Play's terms. If you cannot form a binding agreement on your own, you may use Squeezio only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Your license to use the Android app
Adrian Spies, the publisher of Squeezio, grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on devices you control, for your own use, subject to these terms and the Google Play terms. We may suspend or end this license if you materially breach these terms, in particular the acceptable-use section, and to the extent your mandatory legal rights allow. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse engineer the app except where the law expressly permits it.
Your videos and files
You keep all rights to the videos you compress. Compression runs on your device, and the app does not upload or receive the contents of your videos. You are responsible for having the right to use the videos you process and for keeping your own backups of anything important. The original recording is not modified by compression, and each compressed video is saved as a new file to a folder you choose.
The optional Pro upgrade
The optional Pro upgrade includes subscription plans and a one-time lifetime option, sold through Google Play. Google Play handles payment and keeps your purchase history. On your device, the app caches whether Pro is active and, for an active subscription, its product identifier. Prices and the features included in Pro are shown in the app and in the Google Play purchase flow before you buy.
A Pro subscription renews through Google Play until you cancel it there. The lifetime option is a one-time purchase for Pro access rather than a recurring subscription. Your access to Pro depends on Google Play confirming an active entitlement. As with any app, continued use depends on Squeezio remaining available on Google Play and compatible with your device.
Cancellation and refunds
You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Google Play account. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. After you cancel, Google Play may keep Pro active until the end of the period you have already paid for. The lifetime purchase is not a subscription, so there is nothing to renew or cancel.
Refund and withdrawal requests for Google Play purchases can be started through Google Play, which may process a refund directly or direct you to contact the developer. For help with a purchase issue, use support@squeezio.app.
Acceptable use
You agree to use Squeezio only for lawful purposes and not to misuse it, for example by using it to infringe someone else's rights, to process content you have no right to use, or to interfere with the app's operation or security.
Performance and compatibility
Compression results, including file size and visual quality, depend on your video, your settings, and your device. Squeezio does not promise that every video, format, codec, resolution, or target size will be supported on every device, or that a particular output size or visual result will always be reached. Compression is a demanding task that uses processing power, battery, and storage space.
This section describes technical limits of video compression. It does not limit any statutory warranty, defect, update, withdrawal, refund, or other consumer rights that cannot be limited by contract.
Liability
Adrian Spies is liable without limitation where liability cannot be limited by law, including liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, mandatory product liability, and any guarantee expressly given.
For simple negligence, liability is limited to breaches of essential contractual obligations. Essential contractual obligations are obligations that make proper use of Squeezio possible and that you may normally rely on. In those cases, liability is limited to typical, foreseeable damage. For other simple negligence, liability is excluded to the extent the law allows. Your mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app changes or as the law requires. When we do, we will update the effective date shown with this document, and significant changes will be made clear in the app or on this website.
Governing law
These terms are governed by German law. For merchants, business users, or cases where a court venue can otherwise be agreed by law, the venue is the competent court for Fulda, Germany. This does not affect any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
